RORATION ( Research on Research Associa tion) is an independent, member-driven association dedicated to advancing the emerging field of research on research—the systematic study of how research is funded, organized, conducted, communicated, and evaluated. Established as a legal association with voting members, RORATION serves as a representative body for a diverse, international community of scholars, practitioners, and institutions who share a commitment to improving the way research itself is conducted.

The name RORATION evokes a dew drop, a symbol of clarity and renewal, reflecting the association’s aspiration to bring fresh insight and transparency to the research ecosystem.

At its core, RORATION exists to support and promote research on research through a wide range of activities, including publication of the Journal of Research on Research ( J·ROR).
